Review of Recruitments Under Process in Various Departments : RPSC & RSSB Should Complete Recruitment Processes in Time-bound Manner – CM


Jaipur, 19 September. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has said that the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and the Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) should complete recruitments of the Rajasthan administrative services (RAS), various other state services, or the subordinate services in a timely manner as per the calendar. He said that recruitment advertisement should be taken out on time like the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), examination, and interview be held on time so that the entire process of selectios for jobs would not remain pending for a long time. 

Shri Gehlot was reviewing the recruitments under process in various departments through a video conference from his residence on Saturday. He said that the recruiting agencies should not take much time in holding examinations once the requistions are recevied from any department and the selection results too should be declared as per the schedule. 

The Chief Minister said that many times recruitments got stuck due to obstacles in service rules. In such a situation, the concerned department should take congnizace of the facts to resovle the matter suitably on urgent basis including amendment in the service rules, if required. The recruiting agency should also ensure that as far as possible the examinations of two different recruitments were not scheduled on the same dates. Also, efforts should be made the advertisements for recruitments, once issued, were not amended repeatedly. 

Shri Gehlot expressed satisfaction over the progress made in the last four months in regard to pending recruitments. During this, selection process was completed on about 6000 posts after getting various obstacles cleared through the court decisions. He said that the remaining recruitments, which were pending being sub-judice, should be properly followed up by coordinating with the Advocate General and Additional Advocates General and putting their cases firmly in the courts. 

The CM further said that the document verification of the selected candidates should be done within a time limit. The RPSC or the Selection Board should inform the candidates through public notices declaring time schedules. Instead of giving repeated chances to the candidates, who were not turning up for document verification, the cut-off date should be fixed at once. He said that on completion of the probation period, the confirmation too should be done on time. 

The Chief Minister asked the offiicials to organise REET examination on time. In the meeting, the present status of recruitments in Education, Health, Women & Child Development, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj, Agriculture, Revenue, Forest & Environment, Ayurveda, and other departments were discussed in detail. 

Principal Secretary of the Department of Personnel Smt. Roli Singh informed that in all 76,265 appointments have been made till August 10, 2020 since the new government assumed office. Results of the other 2,560 candidates has been declared, interviews for 1,571 posts are to be held, examinations had been conducted on another 7,053 posts for which results were awaited. Public advertisements too have been issued for recruitment on additional 21,500 posts in various governemnt departments. She furhter said that the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic delayed in conducting some of the recruitment examinations.

Chief Secretary Shri Rajeeva Swarup, Rajasthan Staff Selection Board Chairman Dr. BL Jatawat, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Niranjan Arya, Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Shri Rohit Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Home Shri Abhay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary Health Shri Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary Forest & Environment Smt. Shreya Guha, Principal Secretary Revenue Shri Anand Kumar, Principal Secretary Administrative Reforms Shri Ashwini Bhagat, Principal Secretary Agriculture Shri Kunjilal Meena, Principal Secretary Energy Shri Ajitabh Sharma, Secretary School Education Smt. Manju Rajpal and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
