Special Focus Given on Strengthening the Health Infrastructure - Health Minister
Jaipur, August 28 Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that the Government’s entire focus is on strengthening the health infrastructure in the State. The Government is working on every point at the micro level, by which Rajasthan could become an example in the entire country in the health sector. The State is becoming a leading State with the efforts of the State Government.
Dr Sharma said that special work is going on in the healthcare, health infrastructure and health manpower in the State under the strong leadership of the Chief Minister. The Government is not leaving any stone unturned in providing better health facilities to the general public by facing all the challenges.
More than 22 lakh tests done in the State
The Health Minister said that till now more than 22 lakh tests have been done. Everyday RT-PCR test is being done on 35,000 people. He said that capacity to conduct 51,640 tests per day in the State has been developed. He said testing facilities have been developed in 22 districts of the State and soon corona testing will start in remaining all the districts.
First Resolution is to Bring Death Rate to Zero
The Health Minister said that the resolution of the Chief Minister during COVID is that no person should die of corona. This is the reason that the Government is providing lifesaving injections worth Rs 40,000 free of cost to the serious patients. The recovery ratio of Rajasthan is better compared to other States in the country. At present, approximately 80% of patients have recovered and gone home. Not only this, even the fatality rate due to corona in the State is just 1.3%. A new lease of life has been given to around 211 serious patients through Plasma Therapy in 5 Medical Colleges in the State. With this therapy, 99% of patients have recovered. He said that people should come forward to donate Plasma.
Intention to Carry Health Facilities up to the Tail End
The Health Minister said that the Government’s intention is that people sitting at the tail end should get the benefit of basic health facilities. The Government’s thinking is that there should be a Medical College in each district for which the Government started the efforts after coming to power. Approval has been received to open Medical Colleges in 15 districts because of the preparedness of the Government. At present 8 Medical Colleges in the private sector have been opened and there are only three districts, where the Government Medical College is not there. The State Government is making all efforts to open medical colleges in these districts.
Medical Education got New Heights
Dr Sharma said that earlier there were 1100 PG seats in the State and 950 seats were increased with the Government efforts including superspeciality seats. A total of 1,000 seats were increased. He said that in the coming days, there will be no shortage of specialists in Rajasthan. He said it is the effort of the Government that more and more people come into the field of Medical Education and serve the general public.
Swasthya Mitras are making people aware for Better Health
Dr Sharma said that the State Government started the Nirogi Rajasthan (Healthy Rajasthan) campaign to make residents of the State healthy. To make the general public aware towards good health, Swasthya Mitras have been made in 40,000 revenue villages by selecting one male and one female. These 80,000 Swasthya Mitras are helping during the corona time and also working to make people aware towards the other national programmes. He said that soon Swasthya Mitras will be selected in cities also.
Health Schemes became a boon for the general public
The Health Minister said that the State Government in 2011 launched the Free Medicine Scheme, which is known as the ‘Success Model’ in the entire country. More than 600 medicines are provided free of cost to the general public. Not only this, the Government in 2013 started Free Diagnostics Scheme, which has also become very popular. Cancer, heart and other lethal diseases have come into the limit of the Free Diagnostics Scheme and both these schemes have become a boon for the poor and needy people.
Will Achieve 100% Vaccination Target
The Health Minister said that commendable work has taken place in the field of vaccination in the State. More than 82% of children are being vaccinated on time. He said that by persuading the parents of drop out and left out children, they are being inspired for timely vaccination. Efforts are being made to achieve a 100% target of vaccination in the State.
Focus on Preventing Silicosis Patients
The Health Minister said that labourers working in the mining sector in the State get affected by the silicosis diseases. The Government is paying special attention to prevent people from this disease. Law is being made along with the medical facilities provided to these patients are being made better.
Government is not lagging behind in Appointment and Recruitment
Dr Sharma said that the State Government has completed the recruitment of 765 doctors. These doctors have given excellent services in the form of Corona Warriors. Now the work on recruiting 2,000 doctors is going on. Around 12,500 ANM-GNM have been appointed in the State by completing the recruitment work. Health Manpower will not be allowed to be weakened anywhere in the State.
