Review Meeting of Social Justice and Empowerment Dept. and TAD : An Action Plan Will Be Prepared for the Betterment of Bheel Community of Western Rajasthan - CM


Jaipur, August 4. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has said that to provide social security to every needy person of the state was in the top priority of the State Government. He said that the State Government will prepare an action plan so that the families of Bheel Community residing scattered in Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi, Pali and Jodhpur districts of Western Rajasthan could be brought in the main stream and their education and social security could be ensured..

Shri Gehlot was addressing a review meeting of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and TAD through a video conference on Tuesday from his official residence. All Divisional Commissioners, District Collectors and district level officers of the concerned departments were connected through VC during the meeting. He directed to form a committee for this purpose and take necessary action in this direction.

Hostel and Coaching Institute in Jodhpur for the Tribal Students

The Chief Minister said that with the aim of promoting higher education among the tribal students of Jodhpur division, hostel and coaching institute will be opened in Jodhpur. It would provide an opportunity to the needy students to make progress. He said looking at the long pending demand of the tribal community across the State; our Government has announced public holiday on World Tribal Day. He said that this Day would be celebrated at every gram panchayat level with maintaining social distancing in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic. 

Suggestions of Social Activists Are Useful For Better Implementation of the Schemes

The Chief Minister said that NGOs and Social Activists play a big role in providing benefit of various public welfare schemes of the Government to the eligible persons. Their suggestions prove to be useful in better and transparent implementation of these schemes. Their contribution is important in bringing transparency through Right to Information. They have also contributed much in eradicating child labour, providing relief to silicosis patients besides ensuring that the benefit of National Food Security Scheme reaches to needy. He asked social activists to give suggestions for better implementation of the ongoing schemes. 

Ensure Public Participation in De- Addiction Campaign

Shri Gehlot expressed concern over the increase of addiction among the youth and said that the de-addiction campaign should be carried out in a comprehensive and effective manner starting from August 15. Participation of voluntary organisations and the general public should be ensured, he said.

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Rajendra Yadav said the concerned officer should regularly inspect the work places for the eradication of child labour especially to check industries having possibility of involvement of child labour in big numbers. 

Minister of State for Tribal Area Development Shri Arjun Bamania said that to provide better education opportunity to our youth in tribal area they are being imparted coaching facility from reputed coaching institutions. He said even at the time of corona, five lakh farmers in the TSP area have been provided with kits of improved variety of maize seeds. 

Social Justice and Empowerment secretary Smt Gayatri Rathore gave presentation of departmental schemes and said that the State Government has implemented centralised system to ensure timely payment of social security pension schemes to more than 78 lakh beneficiaries in the State. She said that commendable work has been done in the State under the Forest Rights Act-2006. She said that so far, more than 44,000 authority letters have been issued in the State. Letter of authority is remaining to be issued only in the 96 claims.

Chief Secretary Shri Rajeeva Swarup, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Niranjan Arya, Director, Social Justice and Empowerment Department Shri O.P. Bunkar, Commissioner, Information and Public Relations Shri Mahendra Soni, Commissioner, Child Rights Shri Mahesh Chand Sharma and Commissioner, Specially Abled Persons Shri Gajanand Sharma were also present during the VC.
