Random and Cluster Sampling in areas with more positive cases – Health Minister
Jaipur, 23 July. Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that the gamut of testing will be increased through random and cluster sampling in the areas where the number of positive cases in the State is increasing. This will be started from Jodhpur.
Dr Sharma said that identifying asymptomatic patients in the State is a biggest challenge and it can be found only through testing. He said that the random sampling method that was used in ‘Ramganj Model’ will be used in identifying positive patients in Jodhpur city.
Health Minister said that the ratio of positive patients turning negative in the State is best among the 10 big States in the country and even the fatality rate of the State is less compared to the national average. He said the fatality rate of the State has reduced to 1.38% from 2.34%. He said that even Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot’s message is that there should be no death in the State due to corona.
Dr Sharma said that plasma therapy has been successfully tested in the State. Directions have been given to start plasma therapy in other districts by taking permission from ICMR apart from Jaipur. He said data of patients who have turned negative from positive would be made. Such people would be identified and they will be inspired to donate plasma. He said that officers have been directed to improve the quality of food and sanitation services at the quarantine centres in the State. He said that instructions have been issued to pay special attention in Bikaner, Pali, Barmer, Bhiwadi and other such areas where positive cases are increasing due to super spreaders, so that corona could be easily controlled.
