Corona can be avoided if people take proper precautions – Health Minister
Jaipur,
June 26. Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that the increasing number of
corona cases can be controlled if general public take proper precautions. He
said that although ‘awareness campaign’ is on to make people aware throughout
the State, but each and every person fulfilling their responsibility has to
take all precautions to emerge victorious fighting the battle with corona.
Dr
Sharma said that the number of corona positive cases has increased in the State
after Unlock-1 because of carelessness by few people and due to people coming
from abroad. He said till now approximately 10,000 people have come to
Rajasthan from abroad including Gulf and Russia. The entire country had to face
lockdown for five times and people stayed at home, but with lifting of lockdown
people felt that corona has ended and became careless instead of taking
precautions. This is the reason that more than 250 people in the State are
being tested corona positive every day, he added.
Health
Minister assuring the general public said that although the number of corona
positive cases in the State is increasing but the ratio of people turning
negative from positive is better in the country. The number of active cases in
the State is around 3,000 and this number has increased because of people
coming from outside.
When
CM is alert then why not the general public
Dr
Sharma said that the theme of the State government is ‘Rajasthan is Alert’.
When Chief Minister of the State wears mask, maintains distance of two yards
and follows all the protocol then the general public should also adopt all the
precautions. When they themselves and their family remain safe then the society
and the State will automatically become safe.
Awareness
Campaign will prove effective in preventing seasonal diseases
Health
Minister said that Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot had called to start a
massive awareness campaign from June 21 to 30 to make people aware about
corona. Today teams of health and other departments are making people aware in
villages and hamlets of the State. He said seasonal diseases such as scrub
typhus, malaria, chikungunya, swine flu etc occur during the rainy season. In
such situation, this campaign will prove very effective so that the outbreak of
corona does not increase.
Precaution
is the only treatment
Health Minister said that corona has to be viewed on the lines of ‘Avert Accident By Being Cautious’. He said, “No medicine or vaccine has been made for corona. In such situation, by following the protocol that is regularly washing hands with soap, wearing mask, maintaining two-yard distance, not spitting in public places, avoid going in group or crowd and by maintaining social distance, we can win over corona. He said the chain of infection can be broken only by adopting these precautions.
