The Rajasthan High Court has permitted the advocates and litigants to file urgent matters through email without physically coming to the Court premises

Jaipur, 08 April. In the interest of public at large amidst the nationwide lockdown and in order to have effective control over spread of Covid-19, the Rajasthan High Court has permitted the advocates and litigants to file urgent matters through email without physically coming to the Court premises.

In order to make this process of online electronic filing of petitions further effective, streamlined and secure, the Rajasthan High Court has started E-Filing facility for Advocates and Litigants through a specially developed and secured online E-filing module. This module will save petitions and documents in servers of High Court using Case Information System (CIS) software. Users will also get regular updates about case status and orders passed through automated SMS and email facility of CIS. Tracking of cases will also be much easy.

E-filing module enables online-electronic filing of petitions and legal papers from any place in India. Using E-filing, cases (civil, writ or criminal) can be filed before Rajasthan High Court Jodhpur and Bench at Jaipur. The portal can be accessed to file cases by any Advocate or Party in Person 24x7 from their Residence or Offices without any need to come to Courts. The only requirement is an active internet connection.

Link of this E-filing module has been made live and the same is available on the web site of Rajasthan High Court. Initially E-filing of urgent cases of any category can be made through this facility. Before E-Filing, the Advocates or Parties in person shall be required to create their user account on the E-Filing module. Detailed guidelines for user creation and E-Filing are available on the web site of Rajasthan High Court. (www.hcraj.nic.in)

Advocates are required to create user accounts with help of their Bar Enrolment number, mobile number and email address already saved in Case Information System (CIS), which is being used by Courts all over India. Advocates who wish to update their particulars regarding mobile number and email address may send requests for the same on the following dedicated email addresses created for this purpose:-

For Jodhpur  - advocatejodh.update@hcraj.nic.in
For Jaipur Bench - advocatejpr.update@hcraj.nic.in

The present facility of filing of urgent cases through email shall be simultaneously continued for few days so that the Advocates/Party in person may create their user accounts and start E-filing. Hard copy of e-filed cases shall be filed along with requisite court fees on filing counters within 7 days after the normal work resumes.

Till the filiing through email is permitted, the Advocates are to ensure that filing is made only through one mode i.e. either through email or on the e-filing portal. If filing is made through both the modes, either the case will not be listed or it will delay the listing as the system will identify two cases in one matter.

The facility of e-filing shall be continued after the lockdown and resuming normal work. The e-filing portal will also be directly integrated with online payment facility of court fees.

Rajasthan High Court Administration has urged Advocates and Parties to file new cases and interim applications in any previously registered case through this E-filing module as this module is more secure and users will get regular updates about cases.
