'People Should Cooperate In Fight Against Corona'

Jaipur, April 9. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot has said that it should be ensured that people compulsorily wear mask in 196 urban areas (municipal corporations, municipalities and municipal councils) and agriculture markets (mandis) in the State to prevent spread of corona pandemic. He asked the officials to continue working for success in controlling corona in Rajasthan. He directed them to implement the ‘Bhilwara Model’ in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Churu, Tonk, Jhunjhunu, Banswara and other districts to control the situation.

Shri Gehlot was reviewing the situation of corona infection the state including Jaipur through video conference from his official residence on Thursday. He said that curfew should be strictly imposed in 38 areas and no person, including the government employees, should be allowed to either enter or exit the curfew areas. He said that screening, testing and other arrangements should be made in Ramganj and other densely populated areas of Jaipur including Bhatta Basti, Amritpuri, Kho-Nagorian or Moti Dungari.  

Protocol Should Be Strictly Followed In Quarantine

The Chief Minister said that apart from the walled city, wherever corona positive cases have been found, the residents of nearby houses should be kept in home quarantine. Buildings of big educational institutions, hotels, hospitals and other institutes in the outer areas of Jaipur should be identified and utilised for quarantine. He said that all necessary amenities should be extended to the people living in quarantine and protocol should be strictly followed. Jaipur Development Commissioner Shri T Ravikanth would be the in-charge of all quarantine facilities in the city.

Hotspots Monitoring Through Cameras

Shri Gehlot asked for installing cameras for effective online monitoring of corona infection in hotspot regions. This would help in strict monitoring of the movement of people. He said that if this experiment resulted success in the walled city, the same would be replicated at other places as well. He stated that drone cameras should be used for effective monitoring and action should be initiated against those violating the protocol of social distancing.

Samples To Be Taken from 30 Clusters

The CM instructed for cluster sampling in corona infected areas in the walled city. Proper arrangements should be made for this by dividing the entire area into 30 clusters and 30 samples should be collected from each cluster. Doing this, most of the infection in the area could be detected and then it would be easy to take effective steps in checking spread of the disease. He further asked to keep five mobile medical units ready all the time in the affected areas.

All Patients In Bhilwara Declared Negative 

Shri Gehlot expressed satisfaction that the test reports of all 25 patients in Bhilwara had turned negative. He said that the ‘Bhilwara Model’ was being praised in the entire world. “In future too, we will give shape to our mission on this basis, so that corona can be defeated successfully in other districts as well,” he added. The CM said that all health personnel and other employees, who are in partaking the campaign to prevent corona should be provided all necessary equipment. Also, arrangements should be made for their security. He directed to start planning the future course of action and a protocol for medical facilities after the lockdown ends.

People Should Extend Full Cooperation To The Health Personnel

Chief Minister appealed to the people of Rajasthan to extend full cooperation to the health personnel, who are making efforts in protecting lives of the people. He said, “These health personnel are working round the clock to protect everybody by risking their own lives. In such situation, it is responsibility of all of us to protect the State from corona and we should come forward without any fear and hesitation for screening, testing and other works to help the health personnel, as it is in your interest.”

Medical and Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that 3,000 samples are being tested in Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital. So far, 66 patients have turned negative after treatment at SMS hospital.

Rajasthan Stands Second In Number of Corona Tests

Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Shri Rohit Kumar Singh said order for 10 lakh kits for rapid testing has been placed. The first consignment of 2 lakh kits will be received soon. He said Rajasthan is on second number after Maharashtra in the regard to testing.

Chief Secretary Shri DB Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Rajeeva Swarup, Director General of Police Shri Bhupendra Singh,  Principal Secretary Information Technology Shri Abhay Kumar, Principal Secretary Energy Shri Ajitabh Sharma, Secretary Medical Education Shri Vaibhav Galriya, Jaipur Development Commissioner Shri T Ravikanth, Commissioner of Police Shri Anand Shrivastava, District Collector Shri Jogaram, Jaipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri VP Singh and other officers were present in the video conference.
